In a recent article in the Austin American Statesman it was reported that Pflugerville, which is just northeast of Austin, is to be the beneficiary of 304 new jobs.
Republic National Distributing Co, which is based in Grand Prairie, will build a 250,000 square foot building on 32 acres near Pecan Street and IH-30. The deciding factor for this expansion was the available workforce and the available land for such a large building (not to mention tax incentives). The company operates in 22 states and has over 9,500 employees so I would think it would know a good site when it sees one.
Just another good reason to make a case for owner Austin area residential real estate rentals. These new hires have to live somewhere and having a well-placed rent house in good condition can be a real money maker. Works for me!
